November is 7 months off and perhaps several changes of seasons away for many of us, but the WikiTree Events Committee has already started planning our annual Symposium and WikiTree Day.  The Symposium is a multi-day virtual learning bonanza and will be held Friday, November 1 through Sunday, November 3.  WikiTree turns 16 on Tuesday, November 5 and so this defines WikiTree Day 2024 for us.

What have you enjoyed for our last two birthday celebrations?  Is there anything new that you'd like to see?  To help jog your memory, here's the schedule from 2023.  Please answer below so that the Events Committee can plan a memorable and fun birthday bash.

For WikiTree Day, I'd love to have some team activity where members get randomly chosen (like in WikiGames).

And contests! Lots of contests! Funny, instant, creative contests... And symbolic prizes too, like stickers or badges.

I'd also like to attend research parties, I missed them all last year :(

On the first WikiTree Day I enjoyed that open Zoom room a lot, where you could just talk with other WikiTreers. That for me personally was the highlight of the whole thing and I was sad that iirc there was none in 2023.

WT Symposium and WT Day have always been about learning and education.

Last WT Day, it was great hearing directly from Projects and meeting their members as well as the Research Parties and details about the individual extensions.  For many of us, this is how we learn about what happened during the year and what is on the horizon.

I think it would be great to continue with this.

Betsy, I believe you have already added me for this event, but if it was 2023, then please add me again.

Are we making a new WikiTree Events Committee Sheet or do we continue to post on 2023?

Ideas for breaking through brick walls like for my ancestor (Seward-986) born 4 years after his 'father' died.

I will be celebrating my 88th birthday about then too.  Have been researching since about 1959 when I married and gained the surname from my first husband - Jellyman.  I was interested initially to find out how old it is and where it came from  (in UK).
