These are the Boyer Boys, the FA (Francis Asbury) Boyer Boys as they were about 1916. From left to right above: Ira (eldest of the boys) and Roy (next to the youngest in this picture). Below from left to right: Fred (third from eldest), Perry (second from eldest), and Ernest (next to youngest). Not shown in this picture was the sixth son, Robert, who died from Measles when 3 years old. I (Ernest) had the measles too but did not have them so badly as he, so pulled through although was weak and sick for weeks. Perry and Fred went into the First World War. Perry went in from the state of Wyoming so was sent to Camp Lewis, Washington. Fred went in from Iowa and was sent to Camp Dodge near Des Moines, later to France. But the war was so near over that he did not see much fighting. Perry was kept at Camp Lewis, became a Corporal, went back to Wyoming married to a Washington girl. Fred was unsettled, did not go back to Arizona where he had been employed in a bank before called to the war, finally went toa bank in Everett, Wisconsin, and married Minerva Edwards there.
