Did a search but I couldn’t find anything that states I shouldn’t but just wanted to double check since they just passed away.

No, but you should make a thorough search before adding one. Often there can be a private profile of a Notable hidden out there for that person, and sometimes we don't encounter it until they pass away. But if you've done a reasonable search and no clear candidates pop up, then please feel free to create it. If you would, please add the Notables Sticker to any recently deceased Notables and if you are able to do so, come to the Monthly G2G Notables thread and let others know where the profile is so that they can contribute. We prefer to improve upon collaboration by keeping the profile open privacy, but if there is a need to keep it at less than this, please email myself or one of the Notable Leaders and let us know if this reason. That way we can plan ahead as we get requests for access, or other potential duplicates as depending on how famous the person was, sometimes several people will try to create the Notable all at once, and we have to manage the merges then. Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks!
