"Siblings unknown" - request for option "Siblings - to be added"

When creating a new profile, I have the intention of adding siblings, but not always the time to do it immediately.  Rather than leave a profile with "Sibling(s) unknown" it would be more helpful to select an option that indicates there are siblings (since they ARE known) but they haven't been entered.  This could also be used to search all one's profiles for those that are awaiting to be reunited with their siblings....

Would this be helpful to others?

Where do you see "sibling(s) unknown"?
You see it in the main relationships section on other people's profiles where there are no siblings added.  For example:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Rodda-470

I can't tell if they know or don't know who the siblings are.. If I can add them because they are in my researched branches, then I am tempted to add them.  It could be that I have interrupted someone else's workflow by doing so (or I have done them a favour.. depending on how they see it).  And also there is Parent Unknown or Children Unknown too.  I am thinking of an outsider's PoV looking at profiles in WikiTree.. (and as a side, considering my own workflow)

If the profile is clearly at the top of a family tree I try to look for ancestors who might be in WikiTree and sometimes connect them up (on surnames I follow and am informed when someone is adding profiles...(If I had more time I'd take part in connectathons)

On my own profiles I see the [add brothers or sisters].. unless i am logged out.
In Wikipedia I can enter a link to a topic that has not been created yet by writing in a well-formed link.

One nice feature would be.. when creating a profile.. to be able to add just the names of parents, siblings and children into a set frame.. and these then create temporary placeholders (without creating an actual profile) that can be filled out later.. then categorise the profile with a tag such as "needs profiles added"..  Where there are existing parents siblings etc, those fields are autofilled  to prevent doubling up..then when you want to create a sibling profile you could click on the placeholder for the sibling you intend to add and go through the create profile process.
Must only be on open (white lock) profiles. I don't see it on my own profile-- I have not added my siblings (since they're still living).
That's what I said .. I'm not talking about living people.. I'm really talking about the outsider's perspective.

On Profiles you manage that have no siblings you see:

[brothers and sisters]

If a person is not logged in or is logged in and views profiles that they do not manage that have no siblings (or even parents or children) you see:

(..) unknown.

I would like the profiles I create to tell other people (who might or might not be a member of WikiTree but it is looking up their family names) looking at those profiles (and not jumping down to the Biography), that the children, siblings parents ARE known.. it isn't true that they are not known.

Sure, it's just semantics.
Even "sibling(s) known" would be closer to truth.

Thanks.  I will try to use that more often...

Whilst I can add the names of all the siblings to be added in each profile notes.. it still leaves the section at the top saying "Siblings unknown" (or Parents unknown).. it would be more correct to say.. "Siblings known" if they are known.  It would save anyone the hassle of delving into finding all the information that I have already spent years doing...

The other answer I guess is to hurry up and add them . Lol
I use that category often, Ian.  When I do, I always wonder how the person who comes to make additions knows what is needed.  Parents, spouse, children, siblings.  I assume they don't look at the change log to see if I put that in there when I added the category.

I've wished I could add a pipe and then the type of profile needed after it. such as this:

[[Category:Acadia, Needs Profiles Created|children]]

Is that allowed or could be allowed?
I don't know if adding the parameter would upset anyone, but I think it would do the job.  I mean it would add the Needs Profiles Created category to the profile and anyone looking at the edit page could see that you meant children.  I would suggest Research Notes, though.  I think that's a good place to put notes about where you're up to in your research.
Still..  considering the outsider's perspective.. someone not logged in.. who comes searching for a family.. they might not think to look at research notes..  They could skip thru profiles just looking at the top panel of information and just move on "because it says siblings unknown - if the siblings are unknown, then why look for further info in the page?" Is how I imagine some visitors could interpret this.  And it still stands that for the profiles I have added without siblings, the wording Siblings/Parents/Children "Unknown" is not true.  They are known.

It may be pedantic semantic, but.. ☺️
The siblings are unknown to the system as you haven't entered them in the database yet.
Research notes are good for a more experienced user, but guests or more casual or newer users might not think to check there.  I usually can tell what's needed if parents are lacking but mentioned in the bio, same for spouse, or I put they had 11 children but only 4 have profiles.  I just think being able to add the type of profile needed to the category label would be fantastic.  As it stands, you can't add a pipe with the word children, etc.  The system won't save with that.  Should I do a G2G proposal?

The siblings are unknown to the system as you haven't entered them in the database yet.

Is that also how the system wants it to be understood?   Because what it means isn't up to the system.  There are three interpretations.

 - Unknown to the system.

 - Unknown to the Profile Manager.

 - Objectively unknown - impossible to find out... In the case of say, some random person in the 1600s.

I have no trouble interpreting it in all three ways and figuring it out... I have come to try to add complete profiles with all the records to create an airtight explanation of who they were (and the browser extension is a wonderful tool to thar end).. if someone adds a few profiles for a surname I follow and stops, I go in and try to find an ancestral line that connects to the main WikiTree and fill out some connecting profiles.

It might be great if people did put some research notes in, but they don't always.  Especially on gedcom import.  I've said my bit now.  Must get back to my thesis writing...
