It should work to add it from the Chrome Web Store. I don't have a Linux computer but this is what a Google search response says:

  1. Open the Chromium browser
  2. Click the three dots in the upper-right corner
  3. Select More tools
  4. Select Extensions
  5. Browse the Chrome Web Store for extensions
  6. Search for the extension
  7. Click the extension's name to go to its detail page
  8. Click the Add to Chrome button

You may be able to shortcut most of those steps by going to this URL in the Chrome Web Store and clicking Add to Chrome.

Apparently, Chrome extensions don't work on Chromium. All your suggestions would work on Chrome (I tried them out) but Chromium for Linux is a different animal. I'll keep looking. Thanks.
That is odd. All the answers I can find on the web say that Chrome extensions work in Chromium.
Katherine,

I have been able to use the Sourcer extension for Chrome on Linux/Mint 21. I do think I had issues with the flatpack version. I also use the Sourcer extension on Firefox. I also use the WikiTree Browser Extension.

I am not at my computer at the moment but let me know if you would like me to investigate more tomorrow.
