tech wish list addition

hi all,

I was wondering if it would be possible to have some sort of sticker or other gizmo that would cause a profile to show a ''Number of descendants''.  Similar to the Notables CC7 counter, but NOT geared to show the same thing at all.  Connections as currently showing in the CC7 counter can have no real relationship other than somewhere some time somebody was related or married to the individual's connection etc.  Rather convoluted.  And these people for the most part do not at all qualify for notable status in any case.

I am specifically thinking of profiles of migrating ancestors pre-1700.

Would it be possible to have something like that, showing only a number of descendants, to 12 generations?

For example, Zacharie Cloustier is reputed to be the migrant with the largest number of descendants (not necessarily bearing the name Cloutier).

(Edmund Rice-52 is another emigrating ancestor with a REALLY extensive # of descendants...)

indeed, another one who probably gets new profiles created for him regularly.  wink

I'll have to talk with the rest of the tech team to see if it is possible.

Knowing what I know about the CC7 calculations, there would probably have to be certain requirements such as having a sticker + being born before a certain date + being PPP just so the list of profiles wouldn't be too large.

Is there a reason you want to see 12 generations instead of something like 10?

hi Jamie, 12 generations leads to us now, 10 generations falls short of that with many of the early migrants.  I am talking about people who migrated before 1700.  If they're born here, or migrated after 1700, then they wouldn't get it.

Don't see why they would all need to be under PPP, Notables sticker automatically gives CC7 count, and loads of those are neither project managed nor under PPP.  Some of the profiles I am thinking of are Filles du Roy, Filles à marier, Carignan-Salières regiment soldiers, the first 2 groups of these are all under PPP already.

Mind you, the man I cited, Zacharie Cloustier, had 2090 descendants by 1729. so numbers can get quite large.  Although he takes the cake according to most genealogy sites that are decently researched.

It would also be an aid in knowing where to work to get our tree growing more, as I am quite certain not all descendants are in.
