After her birth registration in Berlin on 30 Jul 1880 no other official documentation was found, although family tradition contends that she became more than ninety years old. Any info that could lead to establish her whereabouts would be appreciated.

What was her call name.

Maybe you find her with the call name on Grabsteinprojekt or FindAGrave.

Did you search newspapers? Where did she lived?

Thank you Dieter for your useful suggestions. I will follow them up. It might be like looking for a needle in a haystack:

Rufname: Hedwig

Place of residence: East Berlin.
Hello,

I am afraid that it will really be a needle in the haystack.

Ancestry shows 8 Hedwig Meyers born in 1880 just in Berlin. - If you find any gravestones, it can also be any Hedwig that has moved to Berlin or a married name..

If she lived until 92 years, that would be a death year of about 1972 - you will not find any registry records online due to data protection laws, and even if you knew where to search, you will not get access if you are not a direct relative.

https://www.deutsche-digitale-bibliothek.de/newspaper does only show results until 1945. I do not know if there are any other newpapers online for Berlin.

You could check the Berlin Adress books: https://digital.zlb.de/viewer/berliner-adress-telefon-branchenbuecher/

Do you know if she was married? Or her profession?

And there is another possibility: She was orphaned with less than 3 years. Was she adopted? Did she get a new name?

Bst rgds Bettina

Was she married? Do you know her profession?
Thank you Bettina for your response. I am afraid I have reached a dead-end this time. Very little else is known about her except that she became a "Hauslehrerin" or primary school teacher. Perhaps she was indeed adopted, or she got married and died under an unknown surname - who knows?

Only one remark Be, the death is not under German data protection law. Death records are protected for 30 years.
