This year will be my mother-in-law's 85th birthday. She was a young girl in Königsberg (now Kaliningrad) when she last saw her father, Otto Dähne. She doesn't have any documents but "remembers" his birthday as 3 Nov Dec 1911 (Nov was a typo!). Her parents married 31 Dec 1937, and she was born in 1939, their only daughter. They may have divorced before he went missing around 1943; there is a story that he was seen as a PoW in Königsberg in 1945, but nothing factual so far.
I found him in the 1935 addressbook of Königsberg, two years before their wedding, but nothing else. I'd love to give my mother-in-law more information on her father as a birthday present. Anyone able to help?
