Newt Guyot-185 introducing myself

I am a new member of the Wikitree family. My uncle shared a research project put together by a colleague in 1950s on the French families and the descendants that came to Perry County, Missouri in the mid-19th century. The author had access to the birth, baptism, marriage, and death records from the church records, which was the source of the information in the project. The Guyot family was part of the research. This body of work awoke an interest in genealogy. Over the last 30+ years I have worked on an extended family tree for the Guyot-Ross plus five in-law families. Wikitree has become my go-to location to ground check new information. I hope I can give back some to help grow this resource.

Hi David! Welcome to WikiTree!laugh

This is a very friendly place, IMHO and from my experience interacting with other members. Because this is not only a place to park our persona pedigree, sooner or later you will connect to the "Big Tree", and when you do, you will see that many member here are your cousins who share a distant grandfather!heart

Now, that being said, WikiTree has a FREE app called Sourcer that you may use to find sources for your family, and then that app wi;ll also collect and add the sources to your clipboard so you can paste them in the biography you create! Your uncle would have been amazed!

I went to the profile of Joseph Henry Louis Guyott and ran WikiTree Sourcer.  Already it turned up some conflicts with the information you entered: (of course this might be the wrong Joseph Guyott)

Joseph Henry Louis Guyott was born on 17 February 1885, in Perry, Missouri, United States, his father, Francis Xavier Guyott, was 22 and his mother, Josephine Amelia Streiler, was 20. He married Theresa Anna Otto on 15 April 1907, in Missouri, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 4 daughters. He lived in Claryville, Perry, Missouri, United States in 1900 and Bois Brule Township, Perry, Missouri, United States for about 20 years. He died on 22 September 1940, in Central Township, Perry, Missouri, United States, at the age of 55, and was buried in Perryville, Perry, Missouri, United States.
