Hi RM, welcome to WikiTree!
It is a little different here in WkiTree. I have been on Ancestry, had my DNA test through Ancestry. I like it here better.
What I love about Wikitree is that I can run the Connection Finder between me and anyone and see how I am related:
Example: Mayflower passenger James Chilton (abt. 1556 - 1620) is Dave Draper's 10 great grandfather (that is sweet!)
Example: Grammy winning Taylor Swift is my 8th cousin!
I just checked my connections and I now have 2,575 connections, due to the hard work of all the WikiTree members
Next are the tools we have here to find sources. Profiles are not verified because "it's my grandmother"! So, all members have access to a tool called SOURCER. It will not only instantly find every document on every site, but it will also build all those sources with an AI introduction and paste them all on your clip board so you can now paste them in the profile!
Example: I did this in 30seconds! Yes 30 seconds

The next thing I love about WikiTree is the spirit of friendship! We have come to realize we are all cousins, and keep working to discover how we are blood related or by marriages that connect us.
WikiTree has charts we can visually see how we connect to each other.
EVERYTHING HERE IS FREE...and all my family can access it all with out a membership.
Stick around, enter your pedigree, and if and when you make a connection to the "Big Tree", you might find that I am your cousin!
