Which Doctor Who are you most closely connected to?

It's a Time Lord convention this week as we look at many of The Doctor's incarnations (plus his wife!), starting with the first Doctor, William Hartnell, and the tenth (and fourteenth) incarnation and arguably one of the most popular Doctors, David Tennant

Here are more Doctor Who alumni to check your connection to:

(If your favorite Doctor isn't listed, it's because that one isn't connected yet.)

Which of these is closest to you on our single family tree? If you're one of the 32.4 million of us who are connected to each other on our big tree, you can check with the Connection Finder. On any WikiTree profile, you can select "Connection to Me" from the pull-down menu.

MyConnections can find your relationships to any of our Featured Connections and in any category on WikiTree such as Doctor Who, Carry On Films, and British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). Click the green button you'll see in the upper right hand corner of the category page if you are logged in.

Let us know how you're related below. If you want to share your connection on social media with cousins and friends, click the "get shareable image" button below your connection path. (Please refrain from sharing your connection on the featured profiles. It can clutter important conversations on research and collaboration. Thanks!)

P.S. Play this week's Connection Combat game! Are you closer to the first Doctor (William Hartnell) or the tenth Doctor (David Tennant)Can your connection be verified with reliable sources? The one with the closest verified connection wins ... and there are other fun categories of winners too.

P.P.S. Help us find and improve the profiles for next week's feature: Dune.

How come River Song who appears in the above list is not on the Connection Finder, but Alex Kingston who is not in the list is on the Connection Finder?

Edited to add: To answer my own question, Alex Kingston plays River Song. The discrepancy is that all the others have the actor's name, so "River Song" in the above list is different from the other entries. That still means there are only two women in the theme.

by Jim Richardson G2G Astronaut (1.0m points)
The others are all called "the Doctor", and can only be distinguished by the order of their appearance.
To be far there has been only one other Female Doctor (Jo Martin, The Fugitive Doctor) and she does not appear to have a WikiTree Profile.

Most of the other Females in the Doctor Who category are companions or associated with the production. I suspect the only reason we got Alex Kingston in the list was because her character was married to the Doctor.

The post seeking ideas did ask for companions not just actors playing the Doctor, and a number of women were nominated. Gender balance would have been helped if some of those had been selected in addition to Jodie Whitaker and Alex Kingston.

Don't forget the Doctor-Donna (Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate). And if you count actresses who played the TARDIS / channeled the TARDIS, then add Suranne Jones & Billie Piper.

Even though I have Scottish/English ancestry I am anywhere from 22 degrees to 37 degrees removed from all the doctors.

Which is unfortunate as this is one of my favorite shows...

Been a fan of Dr. Who ever since the early series was aired on PBS. My favorite Doctors include David Tennant and Peter Davison so I was delighted to find I have a 22 degree connection to Tennant and a 21 degree connection to Davison!

This is because David Tennant is married to Davison's daughter Georgia and she is my 11th cousin thru her mother Sandra Dickinson.
by K. Roth G2G5 (5.1k points)
and Georgia played David's (Dr Who's) daughter it all get's a little bit much LOL, like a parallel time thingie..

I kinda wish they'd brought in the Master (or Missy!)

Not weeviled out YET...

Just wanted to share as I found it hilarious! I checked the whole list; I am connected to each, by varying degrees, and they all are patrilineal! Most go through the same ancestor granny Boone, but not a single cousin among them.

So far David Tennant and Tom Baker are closest at 24°, but Tom's wife, Lalla Ward, is my 9th cousin four times removed.
