Advice before editing this pre-1700 Hutchinson profile?

I have information to contribute to the profile of Margaret Hutchinson. This is what I can add:

  • There is a county directory where the name Arbuthnot appears a couple of times.

These are the sources I am using:

  • None shown at present.  Ancestry has 11 supposedly current sources, incluing anachronisms.

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Pre-1700 profiles require reliable sources.

And what is a "reliable source?"  Not Find a Grave, which is regarded as Gospel, although the Wikitree description says that it ois often wrong?  Facts are facts, and have no alternatives.

Its also worth looking at the England page as this explains a bit more about reliable sources .https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:England_Project_Reliable_Sources

ScotlandsPeople has the marriage of William Scot and Margaret Hutchison on 21 Aug 1710 in Parish of Duniplace. There could be more detail in the actual register but you have to pay to view that. (Registering to use the site is free as is searching and looking at the basic information)

Duniplace is apparently also in Stirlingshire, and this could be your couple.
