It is bizarre to see this question after having another company use the same DNA sample analyzed several years ago by Ancestry to create an estimate for free during the recent promotional period on My Heritage. That said between those 2, GEDmatch, Genomelink, Ftdna, they are ALL vastly different but especially the most recent:
* GenomeLink: NW Europe 60%, Other European 27%, EastEurope 11%, Asian 3%
* My Heritage: Scandinavian 43.4%, Greek&South Italian 25.5%, Irish/Scottish/Wales 24.9%, Balkan 4.4%, Finnish 1.8%
* Ancestry: England&NW Europe 29%, Ireland 21%, Sweden &Den 17%, Eastern Europe &Russia 17%, Scotland 13%, Wales 3%
* CRIGenetics: (100% European for recent analysis)- German 37.8%, Italy 18%, Southern, Central Slavic 13.9 %, British Isle 11.9%, France 10.5%, Spain 5.4%, Scandinavian 2.5%
* I'll stop there bc there are more but it's interesting to note ALL results except the last one- were derived from the same data derived from a single sample sent to Ancestry several years ago. That has evolved w/technology and users info but the rest were extrapolated from that same compressed data file sent to the other sites for free basic analysis or for studies etc at some point. If anyone needs or wants the links or code I can verify and send.
