surname spelling variations

I'm not sure how wikitree handles the variation in spelling.  In my family surname was given in records as

1. Breimaier c. 1700  2. Braeumayer c.1747-1785 then some children spelled their surname as Breymayer and others Breimaier or Breymaier.

How does Wikitree connect them as the same family group?  Do I enter several alternate spellings?  If so, where?  Like aka?

On my maternal side I have 18 variations and counting. I included info data when,  where, whom, why.                                                         About 125 years ago there was no uniform spelling, ergo you could have 12 children in a family and 14 different spellings of the name.        Not to count transcribing errors, misspellings, typos etc.                         in one official entry I had two spellings for the same name. So the errors can occur from our uneducated cousin all the way to government officials: probably the earliest spelling I have of the name is Krzysko .
