Does anyone else on here belong to the mtdna T2b5 hapalogroup?

I did  the mtdna test  (familytreedna) and found out my maternal hapologroup is T2b5. I just wondered if anyone else on here belongs to it too. It could be helpful to compare research. My earliest known maternal line ancestor is German,  Katharina (Böhler) Kaiser (1823 - 1884)

I also belong to the T2b5 maternal haplogroup. According to 23andMe, it traces back to a woman who lived 5,000 years ago (~200 generations). Not what I would consider to be genealogically useful, although it could be used to disprove relationships.

My earliest maternal ancestor was (probably) Thankful ______ Smith, born in New Brunswick, Canada, the mother of Sarah (Smith) Courtney.

How interesting! Thank you for answering. I've found that 2 of my matches can be traced to Uppsala, Sweden in the mid- 1700s.  Aside from those 2,  the repeat patterns I've found are at the country level. Poland, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, America...   I think you're right about using it to prove or disprove relationships. I think I know who Katherine Boehler's parents, grandparents, great grandparents are but I'm not as sure as I'd like to be. smiley

Thanks for that suggestion, Peter. I tried it with my own mitochondrial haplogroup. All of the hits seem to be profiles with some degree of privacy, and only a couple of the hits (notably, my mother) actually include the search string in the visible profile. Oddly, several of the hits are known relatives of mine who are not in my maternal lineage.
