Clean-up Edward Teague (c 1660-1697) Maryland

The profile of early Maryland resident Edward Teague is in need of attention. His parents are unknown but a mother has been attached. His point of origin is unknown - suggest Bristol, England be changed to simply England. The Person may not belong to Family Group banner has been applied to this profile without any explanation and at least some of his offspring are known and documented. The banner should be removed.

Any objections to these revisions?

The profile begins with "Edward Teague is the earliest known ancestor of the majority of North American Teague families in what is now the United States." Is this statement supported by facts?

Edit: Additionally, the wife profile is "sourced" from a FindAGrave memorial absent any documentation and a PDF that can no longer be accessed. Members have noted significant issues with a second husband currently attached to the wife.

This profile definitely needs some attention. By all means work on it.

The US Southern Colonies Project is making it project-managed based on it being duplicated frequently (5 are listed in the Acknowledgements).

Thanks for making this PPP via USSC...it should help once the clean-up is completed.

The daughter Mary needs to be detached. She is not found in any credible records.

The son Joshua appears as died in infancy but upon what his existence is based is uncertain. My notes from 2018 show no primary source for him and I find nothing now to support him. I see no references to viable family records of the period or within a generation or two later showing an infant death.

Susanna Teague shown as the last daughter is also questionable. Her marriage record reads "Treage", the source citation for the parentage goes to a no longer functional PDF, and the records Barnes cites (if he has things correct), shows only William, Catherine and Anne as offspring of Edward Teague and his wife. They appear as step-children in the will of Teague's wife's second husband who was executor of Edward's estate. One person does question of if the executor and Edward's wife married -- tracking that down.
