Add unsourced banner to multiple profiles at the same time?

In May 2023 I found that almost all profiles managed by the one person are unsourced.

Many only have Find a Grave as a source, just the words, no link, no cemetery, some have Family Research as a source.

I contacted the person and offered to help her learn how to source, sent how to info and was told it was too difficult.

The profiles need to be sourced.

If I can add the unsourced banner to multiple profiles at the same time it would be a time saver.

I am also seeing a pattern like this.  I am wondering if the projects to load or connect profiles from FindAGrave is adding to the assumption that this is all we need and/ or that isolated & unconnected profiles are a worthwhile addition to WikiTree, which I don’t believe they are.

There is also a pattern with some family trees where no effort appears to have been made to source the profiles. Some say ‘unsourced family tree’, and others appear to be based on an Ancestry tree but the creator didn’t want to take the time to add citations to WikiTree.  In some instances, I have written to profile managers to ask them to at least add a country to a profile. When they refer me to an original Ancestry tree without updating the WikiTree profile, I get either a specific or implied desire on their part to avoid putting any more effort into WikiTree.

I don’t understand why people add profiles to WikiTree if they don’t intend to specify at least one country location and cite sources that may exist on free sites.

As a relative wiktree newbie and (I like to think) someone who tries to be concientious about profiles, how frustrating and timewasting it feels to be is to have to check so many unsourced profiles or rather profiles that are sourced in a way that adds no value ie "personal knowledge" "ancestry tree" or "FindAGrave" (with no link).

However, I'm not sure that multi-adding unsourced would help. At the moment, I take comfort from trying to add some sort of location to the unsourced category and (if possible) odd bits of additional detail to the birth/death locations to help others with the same profile (in a minority of cases I even manage to source them!). I like to think that adding an unsourced category individually means a little bit more thought than the original profile add-er did and gives a better chance of the profile being picked up in a sourcers challenge, of by someone looking for a match.

More pertinently, wikitree is difficult to start with, you deserve a star for spotting someone who may be struggling and for reaching out. Don't stop doing that with others because of one response.
