Profile without dates which is clearly pre-1500

I recently came across a set of profiles without any dates but which are clearly pre-1500 when reviewing for matches. They are currently only sourced by "first hand information." I found what looks to be a solidly researched secondary source here https://adriankerton.wordpress.com/kerton-kirton-genealogy-2/ which includes dates of birth and death and matches all the names involved.

My first thought had been to include the dates of birth and death given, a link to the secondary source, a note on what I had done and adding an unsourced category, so at least it was then classified as pre 1500 and would help with match identification/elimination, but having read the pre-1500 pages I am not sure if I should even be doing that?

I've thought this previously when I've come across some obviously pre 1500 profiles, and not taken action before,  so knowing the right approach I will also follow that in future.

Many thanks

You can add an estimated birth date (like ~25 years older than the son, as the son doesn't have to be the oldest son). I would add first in the biography the {{Estimated Date|Birth}} template and then the date, because after you added and saved the birthdate, you won't be able anymore to edit the profile, since it is Pre-1500.

Is there any indication about where they lived? I see that Thomas's daughter was allegedly born in Somerset, so that may be a start.

There are these Kyrtons in Wiltshire and Somerset, in Common Pleas.

1510 Kyrton, Thomas, of North Bradley, gent

1524 Kyrton, Thomas, of From Selwod, gent

1475 Kyrton, Richard, of Coterygge, North Bradeley, gent

I think Thomas Kyrton in North Bradley and in Frome Selwood could be the same person. The two places are about 6 miles apart. I don't think Thomas's birthdate can be right. If his daughter was born in 1530, he would have been 65. Possibly she was born a bit earlier, in about 1520, and he was born later, in about 1480? That might make more sense.

And then his alleged father, Richard, of North Bradley, would have been born in 1450.

But Kirton/Kyrton etc was not a particularly uncommon name. There were dozens of Thomas Kirtons at any particular time.

Edit: Found them in Victoria County History of North Bradley. Alice Blanchard married Richard Kirton. Alice had died by 1508. Thomas Kirton held the manor of Cutteridge in 1518. Richard Kirton, probably his son, in 1540.
