Recorded slave interviews

ABC news, at about 9:15 New York time, had a news article about thousands of recorded interviews with former slaves.  I
did not see it, only heard it.  It might be something the Black
History projects might like to see if they are interested.

If you would like to see the slave narratives already on WikiTree, here is the overall category: United State of America, Slave Narratives. This will show you the states in which there are slave narratives on WikiTree! Then you can look in each state, usually by county, to find the individual slave narratives.

They often have great clues to genealogical information, (that needs to be verified by sources, of course) and often will provide a connection to the slave owner that could help connect other enslaved ancestors as well.

I had not paid attention to this before the current push for Black history month.  Thank you for the expansion for others looking.

We have a team actively creating profiles from these and after three years, we are actually getting close to finished!
