Why are my two GEDCOM trees not merging?

I have uploaded two GEDCOM files ... one for my paternal family and one for my maternal family. My parents (both deceased) and myself are common to both trees/both GEDCOM files. In Wiki, I can only view my paternal tree, but my mother is not listed (as if never entered), nor can I enter her by search for her Wiki ID which does not seem to exist. How can I get these two trees to display as one tree for both of my parents and their families? Thank you.

An important note first: WikiTree does not allow the automatic importing of GEDCOMs. The data has to be passed through GEDCOMpare, matches checked, and then manually added to the tree. This means that data from multiple GEDCOM files cannot be merged or linked to each other.

With that said, you should first start by checking your current GEDCOMpare reports and review the instructions at Help:GEDCOMpare.

When you finish processing the two gedcom files, your family members will be linked. You don't say how big the files are, but we recommend that they not be more than a 100 persons at a time due to the work that is required to process them.
