Sunames Summary app

Question

I have been looking for a way when I look at decendants of a profile to get a summary of those surnames.

I have looked at all the Tree Apps especially at the Surname List and Decendants tree apps.  The csv of the Decedants tree app holds promise, but a lot of work to sort to my will.

None had exactly what I am looking for:

I was hoping for an alpha list of the surnames of a profile's decendancy list.

Anything that already exists?  OR

Is this an app idea, could an existing app be updated.  I was once a programmer and would love to have the knowledge to do this myself, but C and java elude me (More phycological barrier due to a bad teacher)  Now if I could use python!

Hi NG. You could use WikiTree Plus to get a CSV file of descendants containing their full names, for example

https://plus.wikitree.com/function/WTWebProfileSearch/Profiles.csv?Query=Descendants%3DClaffey-192&MaxProfiles=500&Format=CSV

Apply a suitable Python program after you download the file. The CSV module will be useful.
