Peters-19608 served in the Civil War for the GAR. I don't know where to categorize his service under New York. Cavalry? Infantry?

I added the Civil War box to his profile. That will include the regiment category.  Also added some military service records.

I moved that he was a member of the G.A.R. to a Postbellum section.  In case you do not know, the Grand Army of the Republic was not a military unit. It was a fraternal organization (much like the American Legion) for former soldiers in the Union Army. I could not find what G.A.R. post belonged to, so I added the general G.A.R. category.

Thank you so much for adding to his profile. You crested a beautiful record of his service.

I apologize that the profiles I add mostly contain sources and family names. My purpose is to find connections, 1 cemetery at a time, mostly, from Find-A-Grave profiles.
Bev,

You created the nice profile. All I did was add some military service data.  You had already done the hard part.

Any time you come across a Civil War soldier and want some assistance, just ask. I'm always willing to help.
Norman,

Thank you for your kind offer. I will take you up on it!

Bev
