I had made this remark in May 2022 about George Young not being the son of John Young (Young-400). This has not been completed and the relationship is protected so I cannot remove this relationship. What can be done to remove this incorrect relationship?
On 7 May 2022 Raymond Wing wrote on Young-1543: According to the [https://www.familytreedna.com/public/youngdna?iframe=yresults Young surname DNA Project] George Young (R1B-M269 Group 15) cannot be the son of John Young (R1B-M269 Group 4) as their Y-DNA STR markers are too diverse. Therefor, the parents of George Young should be removed from his profile.
Note to PGM Team: the father John Young who is currently PGM and PGM protected does not appear in The Great Migration series nor the Great Migration Directory. The 1950 book cited for items [1] and [2] on the profile doesn't seem to be digitized at archive.org and I could not find it at FamilySearch (though my ability to locate things in that system isn't great). The earliest documentation of John Young in the colony is 1643 which is a full two years after our cut off on inclusion in PGM. I have not done a thorough search for documentation but find nothing at AA to establish his arrival date.
As to a son named George, John's will is transcribed here (subscription required) and there is no son George listed. This will (1688) is after the death of George (1672) but no grand children of a deceased son are mentioned. There are other dating issues to be found. It would appear George should be detached as Raymond Wing suggests and a second look should be take at the inclusion of John Young in PGM Project.
