Need some help to correctly identify what nation this man belongs to.

Question

Jean Baptiste ''Courchesne'' is clearly noted on his marriage as being of the Kiakionnas nation.  Some baptisms of his children list him as of the Panis nation, although that may be simple clerical error (or other), as many natives get listed as being Panis who weren't.  

Anybody with knowledge of the vatious nations who could help sort this out please?  No idea if Kiakionnas is correct or a linguistic deformation.

ok, found a couple more documents, the transcriptions done for them maintain Kiakionnas for the second one in July, but looking at the original (linked on profile)  it appears closer to Chicaohas or Chicachas (ink has spread).  The first one in June reads Chicacha in transcription, the original is hard to make out but appears to read Chikaohas or Chikachas.

He is named Pichiou / Pichou on some of these records

I'm sure you know panis was a general term for indigenous slaves in New France, but the fact many Chatiks si chatiks were captured by bands that traded with the French led to them being known as Panis/Pawnee so it could be an associated band.  I've never come across the word Kiakionnis.

Merci Michel, I am aware of the misapplication of the word Panis back then, applied to any natives who had been slaves.

I've never heard of Kiakionnas either but I'm wondering if maybe it's a misspelling of Kiowa

I've put the image of the marriage record on his profile.  Kiowa and Kiakionnas have only vague similarity to my mind, but I'm no expert in this area.  Still digging to find out when he arrived in the area, circumstances etc, to try to figure out more.
