Neuchâtel, Switzerland parish records are available online

It was just brought to my attention that the parish records of Neuchâtel, Switzerland are online and viewable through the cantonal Archives. They have been available through FamilySearch but only by viewing them at a Family History Center or Affiliate Library. I think it must have been only pretty recently that the Neuchâtel Archives have made them available from anywhere, for free.

The records can be viewed through the Archives' FLORA system:

Click on "Archives de l'Etat" on the left-hand side, then on "Fonds d'archives." Then find "Archives Publiques," and don't click on the text, but rather on the little plus sign next to it, which opens a drop-down menu. Then click on the plus sign next to "Etat Civil et Recensments." Next, click on the plus sign next to "ECC Registres Paroissiaux et Etat Civil Cantonal," and a list of different parishes and towns appears. Click on the plus sign next to each parish/town to see its particular holdings. Click on the item line within each parish/town of the register you wish to study. Then, on the right hand side a window will appear with a small picture icon. Click on the icon to view the actual register.

Barry,  that is great news.  However, when I tried following your instructions I must have missed something.  The instructions worked so far but then my drop down menu does not have "Etat Civil et Recensments".  Any help?

I added some clarity to the instructions. You don't want to click on the actual text "Etat Civil et Recensments" (although that does open a window to the side with a description). Rather than do that, you need to click on the little plus sign next to "Etat Civil et Recensments." That opens a drop-down menu right below the text. And then the next few clicks in the instructions are for little plus signs to open further drop-down menus.
