Last Piece of The Puzzle

Hi Wikitreers,

I’ve come back to my direct genealogy roots and research and in particular my Polish great great grandfathers sister who came to America same time he did and her family.

We have found all her (Veronica Sekula Krempa Monteiro’s) children and yet the one daughter Mary Murray (who per her mother Veronica’s obit) passed before she did (prior to 1970).

I really want to find her grave and burial location and get her sourced.

Any collaboration is appreciated

Thank you

Note: Is it possible she was born in Austria Poland? This could be why I’m having a hard time finding her

Appears to be her in the 1929 directory a clerk see Here and a factory worker in 1940 directory Here

Hi Andrew,

This has some possibilities:
There's a grave marker for a Mary Alice Murray, no maiden name given, born in 1906, died Oct 1951. She was married to George J. Murray (which is the name of Mary (Krempa) Murray's husband as written in the Perth Amboy directory) (1902-1977).
They are buried in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Middlesex Co., New Jersey.
Find a Grave, database and images (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/97682677/mary_alice-murray: accessed February 11, 2024), memorial page for Mary Alice Murray (–), Find a Grave Memorial ID 97682677, citing Saint Gertrude Cemetery and Mausoleum, Colonia, Middlesex County, New Jersey, USA; Maintained by Danjrus (contributor 46628123).

This does seem very likely. The same county being middlesex. Same religion being a catholic cemetery. Same roots in Perth Amboy. Same husband name being a George and the date of deat being between 1930 and 1970. I’ll see about an obit. Thank you so much a huge help in the search at least it’s a big start!

1930 Ancestry Census Shows children a Rose and Veronica so I have more confidence it’s same family group! The mother being Veronica and she named her daughter after her it appears

Birthplace is listed as Germany but we know it’s likely Austria Poland

I’m almost 100% sure it’s the correct family group especially daughter being Veronica however can’t find an obit or more records needs a bit more to tie in

Per his WWII DRAFT REGISTRATION CARD for George Joseph Murray he worked at the American Smelting and Refining Company, Perth Amboy!

The same employer as his brother in law and brother to his wife Frank George Krempa (1912 - 1956)

Sad she died at only age 45/46? I’m curious how she passed so early in life.
I'm so happy that it turned out to be the right family!

Thanks for sharing your question.

:)
