Need NY and Illinois State Flag sticker example

Question

I've read pages of different box, sticker, templates, etc. and nothing that I found shows me how to format state flag sticker in the bio.

instruction to use   image={{xyz}}     did not work. {{New York Flag}} didn't work.{Illinois State Flag}} didn't work.

I tried using instructions and didn't succeed. Left the two red template errors in place as reminder to address when I have a few extra hours to work on them.

 I know I've seen some flags somewhere ...I can't find.  Is there a list of flag options somewhere? Thanks for any help.

Karen, are you wanting to have a sticker that in includes the Illinois flag and says "died from typhoid in Illinois"? I can configure that in the profile for you.(or whatever other text you want).

I don't know if this helps, but I like to refer to the sticker page for a given state. Like

or

You can get to it from https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Stickers.

Or you can just google "New York stickers WikiTree" and you will probably get there.

As Barbara points out, standard stickers exist for each of the U.S. states. Individual members should not be building custom stickers with state flag images.

The basic stickers for these states can be added to profiles with these codes:

{{New York Sticker}}

{{Illinois Sticker}}

The template pages that Barbara linked in her answer provide instructions for changing the text displayed on the basic stickers.

I am not sure if there are other options but for stickers I use the images from this page:

US State Flag Images

There are two choices for Illinois:

US_State_Flag_Images-63.png (Illinois with border)

US_State_Flag_Images-16.png (lllinois 1969-)

For New York there is one displayed:

US_State_Flag_Images-35.png (New York)
