When will the Templates Project Be Accepting New Members?

I'm in interested in joining the Templates Project.

While there's a ton of projects that do amazing things every day, Templates is the project that interests me the most and where I think I can have the biggest positive impact on WikiTree.

I've been watching the welcome thread for the last 6 months while waiting out my minimum time, hoping it would re-open. Unfortunately, the last news I've been able to find is the message on the welcome post stating the project is full as of 2½ years ago.

Can anybody shed light on when the project will be accepting members?

Currently, there are no plans to reopen project registration in the immediate future. This decision stems from the lack of ongoing work to support the need for new template editors.

However, if you're eager to participate and believe you can make a positive impact, I encourage you to share more about how you'd like to contribute and the specific areas where you see opportunities for improvement. While we aren't actively seeking new members, we're open to considering new additions on a case-by-case basis if there's a clear need and potential for meaningful contributions.
