Benjamin Dwight's History of the Descendants of Elder John Strong, of Northampton, Mass, say that the wife of Elisha Strong (1743-1805) was "Anna Pinneo, b. in 1746 (dau., as the author supposes, of Dea. James Pinneo of Lebanon, Ct., and Priscilla Newcomb)" (p. 477); however, the Barbour Collection of Connecticut vital records says that Anne, d. of James Pinneo/Pineo and Priscilla Newcomb, was born on May 15, 1732. The headstone of Mrs. Anna Strong ("Mrs. Anna Strong wife of Elisha Strong died 18 Nov 1818 in the 72 year of her age") supports the 1746 date (and does not show a maiden name). The years of her children's births (1769-1787) also support a birthdate of 1746. See her and her husbands' entries for full details.
That raises the question: If Elisha Strong's wife wasn't Anna Pinneo, daughter of James and Priscilla (Newcomb) Pinneo, who was she? Was she even a Pinneo/Pineo?
FWIW, I asked this on Stack Overflow Genealogy too. So far, I haven't gotten any responses.
