When do you know that a "Merge Request" has been approved or rejected?

I have requested several "Merges" and do not see any charge.

You should get an email notification of any changes.  If the profile is open for editing it will go to default approval in 30 days.  If you click on “Find” at the top right you will see Pending Merges on that menu, click that and you can find all sorts of information about merges you have proposed.

You can check on progress by clicking on the 'Find' menu, then 'Pending Merges', then click the header 'Pending Merges Initiated by Me'. Both sides need to approve, then the merge needs to be executed. If one or the other does not action after 30 days, they are auto-approved.
