What does the Hungarian "rk főldmives helybeli" mean on baptism certif., (partially) literally "earthy local"?

Földmíves (short ö, long í) has a rounded middle vowel in the modern standard dialect: földműves. Perhaps that's why a machine translator was coming up with the "earthy" nonsense?

Thanks, Maggie. Since helybeli means local and rk probably means Roman Catholic, then főldmives which supposedly means earthy, is actually a term for farmer? Every single person but one on two pages is listed as this, and the other person is listed like this: uradalmi főkertisz (which supposedly means main manor garden) lelesxiek. It's clearly written, but I'm guessing the last word is not as it appears. Is that right? Do you know what it means? Another word for gardener?

What is it that's telling you "earthy"? Whatever it is, it's dead wrong.

I mean, yes, the _föld_ part means "earth, land, dirt", but the _míves/műves_ (or _mívelő/művelő_) part is "worker, -wright, cultivator, doer, artist, artificer". (_Művelődési központ_: cultural center.)
