Hi folks, glad to be here! For many years I've dabbled with genealogy, trying to keep track of my own family tree and my lack of knowledge (or access to proper tools) has probably caused me to stop and restart more times than I care to mention. I also got involved in living history impersonation where I portray an actual Revolutionary War soldier who is buried in a family cemetery in an historic village where I volunteer, and began learning all about him and his family that first settled the area in the 1700's. That eventually connected me back to genealogy again and was gifted the entire family tree of this individual by his 6th g-grandson (who just passed himself last month). I am now attempting to manage and update both family trees and fill in any missing pieces and finally trying to do it all the "right way"!!
My biggest hurdle/brick wall is my own maternal grandfather, which I will be posting about separately. I can trace my paternal roots all the way back to the earliest days in Canada, yet I stop short at my maternal grandfather!! I'm hoping to learn more about WikiTree and see if I can connect some dots from my own family trees!!
