Two John Orphat Colemans, but one is false

There is a Coleman-1493 with wife Eunice Hawes, and some sources, and then Coleman-20628 which has absolutely no sources, and an incorrect marriage. I am not the manager of either profile. It seems the children of both have been mingled together. We need help sorting the grain from the chaff, stripping the profile down to what can be proven.

I am way in over my head here but I have a vested interest in these profiles. My desire is to find the true familial line of Marshall P Coleman 1799-1885), son of Jesse Coleman (1775-1860) who married Eunice Marshall. It is so discouraging when it appears everything is just "made up"

(I suggest adding Virginia to your g2g post tags so you get a wider audience.  Spotsylvania is a little specific)

It does look like there's some conflation here.
I'm not familiar with this family, but doing a little searching, I found this about the family of Spencer Coleman, son of John and Isabel Coleman.  I can't vouch for its reliability, but seems pretty transparent about his research process:

My quick take here would be that Isabel should be disconnected from the parents and made Isabel Unknown, and the parents merged with their Connecticut dupes. Son Jacob should be researched to see if he is with the correct parents.  And perhaps the Orphat and Spotsylvania location removed.

I'd suggest adding your comments directly to the profiles so the profile manager will be notified (or you could also post a link to this g2g discussion).

I posted a comment to Isabel's profile to initiate this process so you can see one way to approach this.  After giving the PM some time to respond, I'd go ahead and start making changes.
