https://ma-vitalrecords.org/ Seems to be gone

I have been reviewing a number of Massachusetts colonial profiles which reference vital records once available under https://ma-vitalrecords.org/.  This site seems to be gone, and the links now connect to various fake pages.  I have been replacing the references with stable (but mostly paid subscription) sites as I go along.  Data Doctors may want to take a systematic look at this and confirm that the site is no longer valid.  While a few Massachusetts towns such as Dedham have published (and public domain) vital records, most towns do not, and so require an AmericanAncestors subscription for on-line references.

This is getting to be an FAQ around here. smiley  Earlier G2Gs that may give you useful information include:

The pre-1850 Massachusetts vital records in the AmericanAncestors database are supposed to be accessible (free) to registered guest mvembers and the Internet archive (archive.org) has most or all of the books online.

This particular American Ancestors database doesn't seem to require registration.  I can access it without being logged in.

Also, from Bobbie Hall recently:

A free space page created by Joe Cochoit may help you with finding appropriate replacements. Everything from MA-VitalRecords came straight from the "tan books." Most are available freely on Archive.org.

Most Massachusetts town vital records for birth/marriage/death before 1850 can be accessed free at archive.org but finding them may be difficult, due to a difficult search procedure.  It is easier to go to Google or DuckDuckGo and enter a search on, say, Plymouth Vital Records, and pick the one hosted by archive.org

Similar information is available free at familysearch.org with a free membership. Also, americanancesters.org provides the Massachusetts VR lookups without requiring any membership.

I don't find searching on Archive hard for these. I just type the word "Vital" and the town name (for example) "Plymouth" in the search box and they usually come up.
