1918 and 1920 - 72 King William St, Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia: how are the family branches of two residents related?

I'm not very good at this: can anyone work out how this ELIZA CUDDY d.1918, and WILLIAM ALLAN d.1920, both cohabiting at the same address in 1918, are related?

Free space profile with explanatory ALLAN family and CUDDY family images attached.  I have direct lineage to the ALLAN side, but WILLIAM here had so many kids I can't figure this out.

I may have missed something, but how do you know that the property did not change tenants or owners between 1918 and 1920? I can't see what says both William Allan and Eliza Cuddy lived there in 1918.

Good question Jim, and thank you for your reply.  I had not explained nor given evidence of that.  Will clarify that now.

Jim I just checked through Trove 1917-1920 for the address, and you are correct: on 7 Aug 1918 there was a 'Mare, Waggon and harness, for quick sale, 18, (pounds) there (no name), and on 23 Oct 1919 for sale was 'Boot makers double headed hammer' (also no name).  So I'm happy to accept that as circumstantial proof of a change of tenancy.  The ALLAN family up until late 1917 were at 42 Johnson street Fitzroy.
