Did Manuel Goldsberry Doby have two wives at the same time?

I need a little help from my fellow WikiTreeers.  I'm trying to sort out the records for Manuel Goldsberry Doby, the son of Columbus Doby (Doby-36).  It seems that he had two wives at the same time.  I'd appreciate some more eyes on this to make sure I haven't missed something.  I made a free-space profile with all the details:

Thank you in advance,

Hi Allan!

I suspect that Goldsberry was a popular name in the family, and that there actually are two of them about the same age.

I don't know the geography very well, but it seems the census places them in different counties for their adult lives.  Are the two locations walking distance?  Easy to travel between?  On the way to market?

Is it likely that the wives would claim their husband was in the house every single census, if he wasn't?  Maybe once, but all the time? That was against instructions, i believe

Does the name Manuel or the initial M ever get used for Nannie's husband?  My quick look made me think it didn't.

It is a lot easier to make separate profiles and later merge them if you come across newspaper articles or wills or memorial inscriptions that clinch it, than to make one profile and later have to untangle it.

Cheers
