Detaching parents from John Poe

I am proposing to detach the parents of John Poe b. 1758, possibly in North Carolina, d. 1834 in Johnson County, Indiana. The reasoning is per the below comment placed on his profile.

On 23 Dec 2023 Barry Smith wrote on Poe-1385:

The oregonpioneers source on this page has no information on John Poe son of Edward Poe other than he was named in his father's will and a birth year indicated that is different from the 1758 year currently on the profile. Private family records from his family state that he was originally from North Carolina, which is inconsistent with him being a son of Edward Poe, who lived in Pennsylvania, maybe Virginia, and then Maryland. One of those family records also states that John's father was named William Poe, not Edward.

I can be convinced if further evidence is provided that this John Poe may have been the son of Edward, but as of now, the evidence on the profile is identifying him as a member of the Poe families of North Carolina, who all were of different lines of Poes than Edward. The progenitors of these Poes are Benjamin, William, Simon, and maybe Samuel. William started having children possibly in the 1720s, and the others seemingly later than that. So the father of John Poe would be either one of these men or one of their sons. (Both William and Simon had sons named William Poe). Of course, it is possible that his father was not named William at all, since only one secondary source makes this claim. I propose detaching these parents and discussing the frequent claim that this John was a son of Edward (for instance, currently made on FindAGrave) in research notes. Since it is not clear at all who his father actual was, he should have no parents attached, but research notes with links to reasonable possibilities.

I just added a Comment to this profile. Appears the profile needs an identity statement and Conflated template.

It is not clear to me if this person was in a US Southern Colony prior to 1776. If so, the profile could be reviewed by the Project for project-management based on conflated/easily confused with others.
