I have not uploaded a GedCom, but have read many questions from folks having trouble or being stuck somewhere in the process.
My suggestion is to go to a friend or the library where you can access a computer, read the instructions there. Then work from the computer to do the upload and GedCompare, which can be a lengthy process.
Perhaps someone will come along who has used a cell phone and has better advice.
