Yes definitely.

However the exact date is not mentioned on the index; only the year.

I believe you can find the exact date by selectively narrowing search dates until you find the date.

Eg if you know the year was 1920 you can narrow the search to 1/1/1920 to 30/6/1920. If the record is still present then you can narrow the search again (eg 1/1/1920-31/3/1920), if it wasn’t present then you know it was in the second half of the year. Rinse and repeat until you have the exact date.
