Congratulations to everyone who participated in the U.S. Governor's Project over the last year. As we mark the first anniversary of our revamped project, I'm thrilled to announce that, with the connection of our last holdout, Gov. Frank Litch of Rhode Island, we have met our goal of connecting every single deceased U.S. state governor to the Big Tree. I honestly didn't think we could do it, but WikiTreers have a way of proving me wrong!
So, what's next? We still have eleven deceased territorial governors from American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands, who still need connecting. We also have 131 living state and 21 living territorial governors still in need of a connection. That's 163 profiles altogether, which isn't too shabby considering more than 2000 men and women have held the office of governor over the last 247 years.
If you are interested in joining us on this second leg of our mission, just click the link below and it will take you to our table of unconnected governors. Just pick one and begin working your magic. And don't forget to report your progress here so we can help celebrate your successes.
