Jillaine Smith is a superb WikiTreer

Question

Jillaine Smith is a WikiTreer of the highest class. I have appreciated her for about forever -- for her wisdom about genealogy and life, her personal integrity, her willingness to wade in to resolve genealogical issues and provide leadership in some of WikiTree's most challenging projects, and her extensive high-quality contributions to WikiTree.  And I continue to recall with gratitude the gentleness with which she responded to -- and corrected -- my newbie errors when I was a new PGM project volunteer way back in 2014. Hurray for Jillaine!

Ellen, thanks so much for this awesome post about Jillaine. She has been my inspiration for so, so many years before WikiTree. We bumped into each other while working on Buffalo, New York genealogy way back at Roots Web when the internet began! Her generosity at providing guidance is wonderful for many of us when we are stuck on something.

I too agree with this award for Jilliane.  She has been so helpful to me on native relationships and other questions about native practices and profile management.  She is careful not to stretch what can't be shown with records, and is so helpful educating others on sources.

Well said, Cheryl, and my ditto to all the above comments. I first came across Jillaine years ago when I began adding our family's puritan ancestors to Wikitree, and she was leading  The Puritan Migration Project. The PGM is now what I would consider one of the leading core data bases that makes WikiTree so unique. Jillaine's directions on how to add to this database was essential to me, and I'm so thankful for her continuing work at Wikitree.
