Hi, David --
There are a number of reasons this could have happened. Some examples could be ...
* If someone has an account with us and chooses to close it then returns.
* If they had an account with us before, and their email address started "bouncing" messages back to us, their account would have eventually been closed.
* Perhaps they reported emails from WikiTree as spam -- either by accident or on purpose. That would also result in their email address being blocked.
The WikiTree team is quite small, and we all work part time, have families and some of us have other jobs, as well. We try to get to emails within 24 hours or so, but if something comes in over the weekend, we're not always able to help someone right away. According to the email we have, we responded within one day of receiving the message.
Having a small, part-time team of admins is one of the ways we can ensure that WikiTree remains free to all members forever.
We're glad to hear that you found a family member who is interested in exploring WikiTree. Thanks for inviting them!
