I can confirm that I descend from Henry Hambright, born about 1834. He was listed as a Black American born in Alabama and that his parents were born in S.Carolina.
I have done Ancestry and 23andme and have matched with too many distant relatives to not descend from Frederick.
The question is who?
Lawson Black Hambright
My current theory is that I directly descended from one of Frederick's grandsons, Lawson and a slave woman.
Why Lawson?
-
All of my Hambright matches via DNA directly descended from him.
-
Henry is also the name of Lawson's father, it is to my understanding that slave owners named the babies, so it could hold some significance.
DNA MATCHES
16 cM
John (Lawson's son): 1
15 cM
Aaron (Lawson's son): 5
14 cM
Lewis (Lawson's son): 1
13 cM
Sarah (Lawson's daughter): 1
9 cM
Sarah (Lawson's daughter): 1
Lewis (Lawson's son): 1
There are four more that range from 13-10 range that I haven't been able to identify which part of the Hambright family they descend from.
In this theory, that would make Lawson my 5th great grandfather.
Can I please have 2nd opinions?
