Why does the WikiTree browser extension for Safari not work on my iPad?

In the following image I’ve drawn arrows to the WikiTree icon and the puzzle icon.  Please let me know what more I need to do to get my 5th generation iPad with iPadOS version 16.2 to run the WikiTree browser extension for Safari?  Thanks and sincerely,

Hi Peter. Have you clicked on the yellow WBE icon and turned on some options? See

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:WikiTree_Browser_Extension#Features

Even if some options are on by default in WBE you still need to click on the WBE icon because of the way extension permissions work in Safari. The first time you click it Safari will ask you to grant permission for the extension to access the page. If you grant the permissions "always" then you should not have to click on the icon again unless you want to change the options.

It is possible you would then have to reload the page to get the WBE changes to show up (though Safari may do this automatically, I forget).
Even with the advice given in this post, WikiTree Browser extension still does not work for me in safari on iPad 4 mini, iPadOS 15.8. WBE is enabled in Safari settings, most if not all default options are on, the orange WBE icon shows in the address bar, I have verified in safari settings that permissions are granted, I have reloaded pages and even logged out of WikiTree, closed all tabs and closed safari and started from scratch - I still do not see the WBE enhancements.
Hello Kees,

Thank you for your comment.  I still can't get it to work on my iPad.

Rob is right, if you have just turned on some settings, you will need to reload the current page you’re on.  However future pages should automatically load with the WBE enhancements.

I demoed setting this up on my iPad during the Sunday morning Wikitree Day session with Murray Maloney Intro to the Wikitree Browser Extension

Once installed you do have to go into settings to the Safari settings for Extensions and turn it on

Hope that helps
