Request a Hobby Sticker Template... Again?

I've read through multiple posts on the topic of stickers for hobbies, but don't see that we actually created a template to use for these. In fact, there is another question asked about this recently in G2G that hasn't been answered.

Is the solution to use the occupation template?

If this has been answered definitively and the discussion just didn't pop up in my G2G post search, let me know.

Personally, I don't care for walls of text without visual interest. When I see walls of text my brain wants to shut off. So I appreciate stickers and they are preferable to having to find and add an appropriate open-source image to WT and the profile, or just dropping a line or two into an already text-filled biography. Anyway, the same sticker can be used by many biography writers, so stickers are preferable to those who use them, IMO.

I just started a free space page for my illustrations and stickers but used the occupation template which seems incorrect and outside the intention of that template.

I do see that this simple template does not automatically tie to or generate a category the way some do. I don't know the correct wording for that, I just know that some templates/stickers will generate the category, as with the US Civil War sticker I frequently use.

Thank you

You can use the occupation sticker for a hobby. No, it does not add a category and that's fine; the category can be added separately. If the category is not already available in WikiTree, it can be requested via g2g.  You might add a blurb to the page to convey the fact that people can use whatever text fits the hobby and doesn't have to be "was a ____."  For my dad's I would say, "built soap box derby cars," or some such wording. For me, I'd say "spent hours crocheting hats."

Perfect, thank you! I'll start building away on my space page.

I'm sure everyone appreciates a handmade warm hat. wink

Aww, thanks, Laura.
