Is there DNA evidence to prove or disprove that Benjamin Sitton of CT was the son of John Sutten of MA?

Benjamin Sutten, son of John Sutton, was born in 1673 in Scituate Massachusetts. Benjamin was not named in his father's 1691 will. He would only have been 17 in 1691. Generally this indicates that a child has deceased before the death of his father.

However, it has been suggested that Benjamin Sitton of Pomfret, and Enfield, Connecticut, and Somers, Connecticut, (then part of Massachusetts), who died in Somers, 18 Dec 1742, was the son of John Sutton.

My DNA knowledge is scant. Can someone tell if there is DNA evidence that Benjamin was or was not John's son? There are some DNA connections on both profiles if that's helpful.

Unfortunately the DNA connections on both those profiles do not include Y-DNA which is what you will need to test father-son relationships that long ago.

There is a Sutton etc. Y-DNA project at FamilyTreeDNA, but it does not look like it has been updated for several years and the administrator has chosen not to display earliest known ancestors of testers, so it is impossible to tell if any of them are descendants of these two men.

The best option is probably to try to contact the Y-DNA project administrator,

It looks like there's a Sitton project that has been actively trying to answer this question, but is still looking for participants, see: https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/sitton-familiesof-nc170-0s/about/news
