Hester/Esther Reed was the daughter of William Reed and his wife, Mayflower descendant, Esther (Tomson) Reed. She was born about 1685, though no record is extant. The Mayflower Families Through Five Generations (silver book) Vol. 12, p. 96, for Francis Cooke states that Hester Reed was mentioned in Weymouth by Chamberlain (4:569) where it was suggested she married Joseph Allen, but no primary source for that marriage has been found by GSMD. This Cooke volume does not carry her line any further or suggest any other marriages.
Her father's will, dated Oct. 1705, calls her "my daughter Hester Read" while he refers to his married daughters by their married surnames. It appears that she was then unmarried. William made identical bequests to his married and unmarried daughters, cash.
Currently her profile shows that she married David Hersey at Bridgewater in 1702, 3 years prior to her father's will.
Are there sources that will support the continued connection of William Tomson's daughter as the wife of David Hersey, or should a new profile be created for the daughter who appears to have been unmarried in 1702?
