Do you have access to a Family Search Image?

I am wondering if the marraige record for this woman is transcribed incorrectly.

"Illinois, County Marriages, 1810-1940," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q28H-29LY : 22 July 2021), Abraham Duncan and Jane Mcdonald, 22 Mar 1832; citing St. Clair, Illinois, United States, county offices, Illinois; FHL microfilm 2,169,352.

Image Available

To view these images do one of the following:
  • Access the site at a FamilySearch center.
  • Access the site at a FamilySearch affiliate library.
  • You may be able to view this image by visiting one of our partner's sites or the legal record custodian (fees may apply).

I think the marraige may have taken place in 1852.

Can you help?

Thank you. I am less confident it is in error give the sequence of the marriage licenses (it is listed as license 00000305), but I do appreicate a confirmation of what year it occured.

I think what this is saying is the only way to view the image is to physically go into a FamilySearch center and they will provide access to it while in the building.

Yes it says something like that, and I am hoping there are some people who go to family search centers and might be able to help confirm the date.

Don't forget that with Illinois records you can search directly at the Secretary of State's office site:

https://www.ilsos.gov/departments/archives/home.html

The marriage index is here:

https://apps.ilsos.gov/isavital/marriagesrch.jsp

Abraham and Jane's marriage does come up in the search, license number:

00000305 ST. CLAIR

You can order copies via the county clerks, for the respective counties. St. Clair's info is here:

https://www.ilsos.gov/departments/archives/IRAD/stclair.html

Thanks.

Looking at the research notes on the profile you linked, I see there were some questions. Here are all the marriages for "Abraham Duncan" that came up via the search:

DUNCAN, ABRAHAM BROWN, LOUISA 1884-01-25 91 1357 EDWARDS
DUNCAN, ABRAHAM GELEN, ELIZA 1849-02-01 002 0010 CLINTON
DUNCAN, ABRAHAM MCDONALD, JANE 1832-03-22 00000305 ST. CLAIR
DUNCAN, ABRAHAM J LEWIS, JENNIE M 1899-04-20 00C 0056 00002236 HANCOCK
Those are the same results I got when I did it.
