I have information to contribute to the profile of Anne (Moore) White. This is what I can add:

These are the sources I am using:

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

I edited the question title to describe the issue that Gloria outlined in her "answer" below. I also added tags for the projects that may be best positioned to help.

Could you revisit your question, please? and add what you are planning to add and what sources you are planning to use?  Those fields are blank at the moment.

Someone merged 3 Ann Whites without alerting the profile managers, and the result was that the Ann described in the Biography is not the Ann in the Profile. The dates do not work; One husband is not accurate but is probably the father of the other named husband.  The accurate husband left a will decades after the Ann in the profile died.  I added to the biography explaining that it is the wrong biography. Sources for my information: Thomas White's will dated. 1769, proved 1773.See the image on his profile page. Deeds of land transactions.  Dates of birth and death do not work.

Your statement that merges were done without notifying the managers is incorrect. If you look at changes log for each of the profiles that were merged away, there is a proposed merge that was done months before the merge was completed. Possibly the proposed merge email was missed, list, or forgotten about, but a proposed merge was done.

You mentioned Wills that mention the person. Were those included in the profile for Ann? If not, then there was information missing in the profile that could have been used, but without it, there is no knowledge.

When there are multiple people with same or similar names and limited information on profiles to distinguish them, incorrect merges can be done. Soneone would need to create a new profile to correct things, since merges cannot be reversed. Sometimes people compkete merges without checking information on profiles or comments. Accidents happen and profiles would need to be recreated.
Linda, thank you for your answer.   You are correct.  In November of 2022 a merge was suggested, but, looking back, I believe it was rejected at that time.   If I am wrong, I am sorry.  I did not know it was re-activated.

The US Southern Colonies Project will make this profile project managed to monitor going forward. Will also add an identity statement at the top of the profile.

The project will do the same for both of the attached husbands Thomas White.
