Final resting place

In 1852 Norman and his family were emigrating to Australia.

Norman died on board the ship, how can I find the correct information on his burial?

It has been suggested that he was thrown overboard  or did he arrive dead on arrival in Sydney.

Any ideas where I could find the correct document?

If you haven't seen the passenger list yet, it is here on Family Search.

Passenger List

The end only lists the number of immigrants released, it says nothing of the dead.  It doesn't say whether or not he was buried at sea, but I imagine he must have been.  There seem to be a lot of death on this voyage, it may have been conditions plus illness.

This may be relevant. If I've got the right ship, there seem to have been 36 deaths on board. Burial at sea seems certain under those circumstances.

Much appreciated. Yes it was Ontario .
